PAstoral Internship with student ministry focus

Part-Time, Paid Internship (15-20 hrs/week)

Looking for an opportunity to train for ministry in a Reformed church? Pine Ridge is an established PCA church in west Orlando seeking to fulfill the Great Commission, expanding the kingdom of Jesus by developing Christ-like relationships with God, one another, and the world.

We are seeking to partner with an RBC student pursuing vocational ministry by equipping him for ministry through a part-time paid internship. Our pastors and elders understand the unique needs of students pursuing ministry and want to provide a rich internship experience that prepares them for all the aspects of their future ministry. Our congregation is eager to receive with love an intern (and their family if they have one) into our congregation to share in mutual service and care as they are trained for ministry.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled RBC student

  • Desire to pursue vocational ministry

  • Approval by Pine Ridge elders

  • Credible profession of faith

  • Pursue membership at Pine Ridge

“Specialist” Internship Component

This internship entails primarily a lead role in our student ministry. The Student ministry director pursues discipleship with students in small groups and one-on-one when appropriate, leads our regular student gatherings for teaching, worship, and fellowship, and leads our students at camps and retreats! There are also other opportunities for assisting roles in other ministries at Pine Ridge.

“Generalist” Internship Component

Expose interns to a broad spectrum of ministry experiences to prepare for any future ministry path. Includes:

• Pastoral mentoring: regular meetings with pastors for ministry training and discipleship

• Teaching opportunities: student & young adult ministries, small groups, Christian education

• Leadership development:  leading liturgy, attending staff meetings, periodically attending session and presbytery meetings, shadowing pastors as desired

Paid Internship

For RBC students who are pursuing one of the core degree programs and are approved by our Session, the internship is paid through an annual stipend with monthly distributions, details of which can be discussed with our pastors while applying.

 about pine ridge

Overview

Pine Ridge is a growing PCA church in the thriving suburb of Dr. Phillips, just west of Orlando. Our mission is to demonstrate the character and will of God by developing Christ-like relationships with God, one-another, and the world. This mission manifests in sincere, gospel-oriented worship, fellowship, and service in our church life. We currently have around 140 members and have been growing, by the Lord’s grace. We are eager to receive with love an intern (and their family) into our congregation to share in mutual service and care as they are trained for ministry. Our pastors are dedicated to the local church’s on-the-ground involvement in training candidates for pastoral ministry.

Worship

We hold one worship service on Sunday morning that aims to give honor and thanks to the triune God through prayer, expository preaching of the word, the sacraments, and singing a blend of traditional hymnody and contemporary praise music that is congregational in focus.

Team

Our church Session consists of seven ruling elders and two teaching elders, and we currently have five deacons. Our senior pastor is Bill Colclasure (M.Div., Westminster Theological Seminary), who is the founding pastor, shepherding the congregation since 1984; he is married to Mary Kay and has two adult children. Our associate pastor is Eric Burket (M.Div., Lamp Theological Seminary), who began pastoring the church in 2022; he is married to Sadie and has three children. We have an amazing staff consisting of a Children’s Ministry Coordinator; Administrative Assistant; Worship Ministry Assistant; and Nursery Assistant. We are also blessed with numerous volunteer ministry leaders who are members of the congregation.

Ministries

The way we pursue ministries is to limit our focus on a set of intentionally structured ministries that provide avenues to accomplish the vision of our church by giving real opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and service. Our ministries are as follows: Small groups (includes 10+ groups that gather in homes and around the community); Children’s Ministry; Student Ministry; Young Adults Ministry; and Worship Ministry.

We also participate in ministries of Missions (supporting 17 missionaries and organizations at present) and Mercy (meeting needs within the congregation and local community).
